KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Ms. B.J. Sharpe
K.J. Sharpe is an award winning writer. She has been writing and winning writing competitions and awards since she was six years old. She is the CEO and Development Specialist for Sharpe Turns Performing Arts and Personal Development. She has written, directed, and produced three social consciousness plays addressing the subjects of domestic violence and toxic religion, complicated grief, sustained trauma and how they affect mental health, and sexual abuse in communities of faith.
She collaborated with non-profit organizations to design, develop, and facilitate specialized programs for at-risk youth including academic and the arts. She has written, produced, directed, and choreographer dance and musical theater, dinner theater, spoken word forums, and an awards and entertainment showcase.
Educated at the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, and Delaware County Community College, K.J. Sharpe has studied Journalism and Advertising, Creative Writing and English Literature, and has an Associate of Science degree in Behavioral Science and Sociology. She graduated summa cum laude, with highest honors, from Delaware County Community College and was an honor and dean's list student at both the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University.
